Ithaca man charged with assault after early morning stabbing
Ithaca (WSYR-TV) – Police have charged an Ithaca man with assault after an early morning stabbing on Dewitt Place.
28-year-old Jose Guzman was arrested several blocks away from the scene of the stabbing, Ithaca Police said.
The victim was stabbed around 3 a.m. inside a home, and was found bleeding heavily from a stab wound to the abdomen, according to police. The victim was transported to a hospital.
Guzman was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D Felony.
He was arraigned in Ithaca City Court on Friday morning and sent to the Tompkins County Jail in lieu of $7,500 cash bail.
Guzman is scheduled to be back in court on Nov. 6.
