Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – It’s hard to believe we’ve hit the month of July; especially when you look at the forecast for the upcoming days.
If you search around Syracuse for some “signs of summer”, you’ll have a tough time finding them. No one’s swimming illegally at the Clinton Square fountain, no one’s wearing shorts…and don’t even bother visiting the beach.
“I don’t feel like it’s summertime yet. Not yet. I feel like the hot weather hasn’t gotten here yet,” said Andrew Guild, an intern with National Grid.
Despite the cloudy weather, some people are noticing some bright spots.
“It’s not winter. It’s not below zero. It’s not snowing. So, I like it,” said JoAnne Zell, a stay-at-home mom.
Even if you don’t mind beating the heat, some people actually need the warm/dry weather to survive.
“Hot dog vending is all weather related. They will come out if it’s a nice day. If it’s a day like today where they can’t sit out in the plaza, it’s kind of iffy. So you rely on your steady customers to come out,” said Louis Letizia of Louis’ Dog House
Louis is lucky. After 12 years out in front of Hanover Square, he’s earned himself some loyal customers who will show, despite the weather.
