DeWitt (WSYR-TV) – Turf fields have become standard in a number of Syracuse-area school districts and soon parents in the Jamesville-DeWitt School District are hoping to provide the same for their students and children.
With the district making numerous budget cutbacks, school officials say there aren’t the funds available to finance turf fields.
Parents say they need to raise $1.6 by April to complete the turf field’s installation during the summer of 2013.
The group will host a number of events to finance the turf project and others dedicated to J-D athletics including Midnight TURF Madness on Jan. 12, the Red Ram Winter Gala on March 2, and the Red Ram Run on April 21.
