Jamesville man pleads guilty to smashing swan eggs
Manlius (WSYR-TV) -- A Jamesville man pleaded guilty Thursday to destroying swan eggs at Manlius’ iconic swan pond.
Village Mayor Marc Paul Serafin was in court for 23-year-old Ross Leone’s appearance.
Serafin says Leone pleaded guilty to criminal mischief and interference with wildlife.
After the eggs were smashed, village neighbors set up a patrol and installed a camera to protect the swans.
A few weeks later, a new group of eggs hatched.
Leone faces up to three years probation and one month of weekends in jail when he is sentenced in December.
