Jury selection begins in open court for Karl Karlson murder trial
Waterloo (WSYR-TV) - Jury selection begins in open court Friday in the murder trial of Karl Karslen – the father accused of killing his son for insurance money.
More than 100 possible jurors will be called to Seneca County Court.
Throughout the week, potential jurors have been interviewed in chambers.
Prosecutors say Karlsen killed his son, Levi, back in 2008 by crushing him with a pickup truck.
The death was originally ruled an accident until last year when police were tipped off about a life insurance policy taken out in Levi's name shortly before his death.
Police also discovered that Levi's will left all of his assets to his father. That led to Karlsen being charged with murder
