Ithaca (WSYR-TV) – Jury selection is underway in the trial of a man accused of shooting a police officer in Ithaca.
Jamel Booker has been charged with first-degree attempted murder and multiple other crimes.
At the time of the incident that sent five-year veteran officer Anthony Augustine to the hospital
, Booker, who was linked to at least one other shooting
, was charged with aggravated assault of a police officer and criminal use of a firearm.
Augustine underwent surgery twice while at Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse
Booker was a suspect in a car larceny when he allegedly shot Augustine as he chased him.
