State Fairgrounds (WSYR-TV) - If you want tickets to teen idol Justin Bieber's performance at the 2010 New York State Fair, you're going to have to search a bit harder for tickets. The State Fair says his show scheduled for Sunday, August 29, has sold out.
The 16-year-old Canadian-born singer/performer was discovered on YouTube. His first single debuted in 2009, and reached the top 30 in ten countries.
Bieber has performed at the White House and toured with Taylor Swift. Most recently, he made a surprise visit to a suburban Rochester high school to perform for students there.
The 2010 Fair will run from Aug. 26 to Sept. 6.
Teen pop star Justin Bieber to perform at the 2010 Fair
March 16, 2010
State Fairgrounds (WSYR-TV) - Teen idol Justin Bieber will perform at the 2010 New York State Fair during one of seven major shows planned for the Grandstand.
Bieber, who just turned 16, has already performed at the White House, toured with Taylor Swift, and sang the opening lines of the re-make recording of "We are the World" to benefit Haiti.
He will headline a three-hour show at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29.
Tickets will cost $55 and $45. They will go on sale Saturday, March 27 at the State Fair Box Office, at all Ticketmaster outlets and online at Ticketmaster.com.
Bieber was 13 when home videos of performances that he posted on YouTube caught the attention of singer/songwriter Usher, who signed him to his record label. Bieber performed for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama at the White House in December, and was one of the featured performers on Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2010.
He opened for country/pop star Taylor Swift in Great Britain last fall. During the tour, he broke his foot on stage, but finished his performance.
In the wake of this winter's devastating earthquake in Haiti, Bieber joined some of music's biggest stars to record a remake of "We Are the World." The list of performers involved in the Haitian effort included Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Kanye West, Pink, Josh Groban, Carlos Santana, Tony Bennett, Lil Wayne, Miley Cyrus, Usher and the Jonas Brothers. Bieber was picked to sing the song's opening line.
Bieber has more than 1.3 million followers on Twitter, and is scheduled to release his second album on March 23. He will join pop singer Rihanna to help host the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards later this month and will be the musical guest on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" in April.
Tickets to see Justin Bieber featuring special guest Sean Kingston will be available at the New York State Fair Box Office on Saturday, March 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Box Office will not be opened again until the next on-sale date. Regular hours will begin in late June.
The 2010 Fair will run from Aug. 26 to Sept. 6.
