Liverpool (WSYR-TV) - The annual Lights on the Lake this year will feature a new event - a First Night New Year's Eve party taking place at Onondaga Lake Park.

On New Year's Eve, the lights will be on, but car traffic will be shut down for people to walk through the park. Former Syracuse University basketball great Gerry McNamara will flick the switch at midnight, illuminating a giant orange ball.

The event also features a concert by singer Sean Kingston. Friday's announcement also included a new partnership for lights on the lake between Onondaga County and Galaxy Communications.
