Liverpool man wins with free Powerball ticket

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Liverpool man is hundreds of thousands of dollars richer after his Powerball ticket came up a winner.

55-year-old Samlane Lathavong will receive a net payment of $661,800 after winning the $1 million prize.

The Laos-born man got the ticket on May 26 at the Far East & Asian Grocery on Townsend Street in Syracuse.

The winning numbers were 13-14-41-49-59, Powerball 14. He received the free quick-pick ticket after purchasing a $10 Powerball ticket.

He told lottery officials he plans to buy a house with the money and also visit his family in Laos.
