Utica (WSYR-TV) – A Liverpool man with a past that includes numerous felony convictions was sentenced on Tuesday for having several shotguns in his possession.
Convicted felons are barred from owning firearms. Longale, 55, was arrested in February 2011 when three shotguns were found in his residence.
On Tuesday, he was sentenced to 78 months in prison.
He was also sentenced to three years of supervised release after leaving prison and he was ordered to participate in substance, alcohol, and mental treatment, including anger management.
His past convictions include attempted sale of a controlled substance in 1981 and 1987, driving while intoxicated in 1991, criminal possession of stolen property in 1999, and burglary in 2005.
Before sentencing, he was held in custody because a judge considered him a danger to the public.
