Cortland County (WSYR-TV) – A local ski resort is facing an uphill battle after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.
Earlier this year, Greek Peak’s lender was shut down by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
Now, the Cortland County resort needs to find another lender so that it can continue to manage and operate the facility.
For the time being, all operations will stay the same. Their goal is to be out of Chapter 11 before the ski season rolls around.
Senator Charles Schumer has been
urging the FDIC to approve a loan and speed up the process for Greek Peak.
Greek Peak is the largest resort of its kind in Central New York. It has been open since 1958.
