Liverpool (WSYR-TV) -- For the second year in a row, Lockheed Martin in Liverpool is doing its part to help the Food Bank of Central New York.
Employees donated nearly 1,600 items to the organization on Tuesday. The company also presented a $5,000 check to the non-profit agency. Lockheed employees spent the past month collecting donations through food drives, something even organizers say fared well among the community.
“The food bank is such a great organization, especially here in Central New York. They can do so much with every dollar donated that people just tend to rally around that cause and it’s been very easy to collect donations from them,” said Lockheed Martin Manager, Kim Hocking.
Hocking says Lockheed helped deliver nearly 6,500 meals last year, but they expect to donate about 13,000 this year.
