Lockheed Martin reduces CNY workforce by 166 positions
Salina (WSYR-TV) – Lockheed Martin confirmed on Tuesday that it is reducing its workforce at its Salina facility by 166 positions.
According to Lockheed Martin Missions Systems spokesman Keith Little, 72 of the positions are being vacated by workers who accepted buyouts and left voluntarily.
94 workers were notified that they will be let go in two weeks.
The cuts are part of a nationwide effort by the company to reduce its workforce by 740 people.
According to the company, the layoffs are part of its effort to realign the skills of its workforce with its current contracts.
Those who are being let go at the Salina facility will be able to apply for other positions in the company.
