Lockheed Martin to furlough 3,000 employees beginning Monday
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The top US government contractor, Lockheed Martin, will furlough 3,000 employees starting on Monday. The furloughs are related to the federal government shutdown.
That number will increase every week if the shutdown continues.
When asked if the furloughs will affect workers in Central New York, Thomas Casey with Lockheed Martin said, "We remain in discussions with our customers to assess individual program impacts. This is an ongoing situation and it's premature to say where the immediate effects are right now."
