Florida (CNN) -- Most pet owners hope that if their pet ever got lost it would be able to find its way back home.
A cat in Florida did just that.
The Richter family was traveling in Daytona, Florida and brought Holly the cat with them, but fireworks spooked her and she disappeared. The Richters searched for day, but eventually ended their search and returned home.
Nearly a month later, Holly appeared outside someone’s home.
“She was so skinny, all bones and weak and she could hardly walk. She was walking all slow, so weak she couldn’t even get a meow out,” said Barb Mazzola who found Holly.
Holly had walked 190 miles, ending up just one mile away from the Richter’s house. The woman who found her took her to the vet and Holly’s microchip got her back in her family’s arms.
