(WSYR-TV) - More than $50 million was raised by the MDA Show of Strength telethon on NewsChannel 9 Sunday night.
As of 11 a.m., the total was $54,907,600.
The telethon was broadcast across the country.
On its website
, the Muscular Dystrophy Association posted, "MDA families thank the generous American public, and the collective contributions of our partners recognized on the telethon, for raising funds to continue the progress in the fight against muscle disease."
Featured in the telethon were Fayetteville twins Nolan and Jack Willis. They are battling Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. To read more about them, click here
