Canastota (WSYR-TV) – A Madison County man was revealed as Central New York’s latest millionaire on Tuesday.
James Mason of Canastota was presented with a ceremonial $5,000,000 check at the Express Mart on North Peterboro Road where he initially purchased the ticket.
On Jan. 7, Mason was picking up milk at the store when he bought the winning scratch-off ticket.
He has chosen to receive his winnings in 19 annual payments of $260,000 a year (net $172,068), with one additional payment of $60,000 (net $39,708).
Mason said he and his wife will continue to work.
