Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Madison County has confirmed the first Central New York flu case of the season.
Health officials are reminding people in the region that now is the time to get vaccinated.
It takes the body about two weeks to develop protection from the flu strains the vaccine protects against.
The flu shot is approved for people six months old and older, pregnant women and those with chronic medical conditions.
