Man arrested after pointing gun at Syracuse detectives
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- A man is in custody after police say he pointed a loaded handgun at two Syracuse Police detectives on Tuesday.
28-year-old Terrell Wright is a convicted felon and a known gang member. Police say Wright pointed a gun at the detectives when they pulled up to him in an unmarked car.
The officers ordered Wright to drop the weapon, but Wright ran, police said.
After a long chase and a brief fight, they were able to take him into custody.
Wright is charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, menacing a police officer and resisting arrest. He’s scheduled to be arraigned in Syracuse City Court on Wednesday.
