Westmoreland (WSYR-TV) – A Vermont man is facing drunk driving charges after State Police say he drove more than an hour in the wrong direction and ran out of gas on the Thruway following a concert in Albany.

Troopers with the state police Thruway detail say 35-year-old Jarred Wendel, of Ripton, Vt., ran out of gas Sunday while driving in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 just west of Utica.

Troopers say his blood alcohol content was .12 percent.

He was arraigned in the town of Westmoreland on a charge of driving while intoxicated.

Wendel was released on $200 bail and ordered to return to court on Oct. 10.
