Man critical after being shot in Syracuse

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- A 47-year-old Syracuse man was critically hurt after being shot while standing on his porch at 101 Salt Springs Road Monday night.

According to police, Wilfred J. Roman was shot just before 6 p.m. and was found lying in the street at the corner of East Genesee Street and Croly Street.

Roman has been transported to Upstate University Hospital where he is currently undergoing emergency surgery.

The suspect(s) remain at large.

Police are asking anyone with information on this shooting to call them at 442-5222. All calls will be kept confidential.
