Man killed in Tompkins County farm accident

ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a 30-year-old man has been killed in an accident involving equipment on a Tompkins County farm.

Officials with the Ithaca Fire Department tell local media outlets that the accident occurred around 1 p.m. Tuesday at Sweyolakan Farm. Officials say the man suffered fatal injuries when he got entangled in an auger-type device.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tompkins County Sheriff's Office is investigating the accident. Deputies haven't released his name.
