Man seriously injured in dog attack

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- A 65-year-old man is in serious condition after being attacked by a pit bull Monday afternoon.

Police say the victim was visiting an acquaintance at 314 Putnam Street when he was attacked by the dog. The victim suffered bites to one of his arms and both of his legs. He is currently listed in serious condition at Upstate University Hospital.

The pit bull’s owner, 51-year-old Susan Castle, was arrested and charged with two counts of unregistered dog in violation of Syracuse City Ordinance.

The pit-bull that attacked the man has been taken into custody by Animal Control.
