Wisconsin (WSYR-TV) -- The man behind an email to Wisconsin TV anchor Jennifer Livingston, criticizing her weight and calling her a bad example to young girls, is now speaking out.

Kenneth Krause’s words sparked nationwide outrage, but he insists he isn’t a “bully.”

“If she is offended, I truly apologize to Jennifer. That’s the last thing I ever wanted to do,” Krause said.

When asked if he wished he had handled things differently, he said, “It’s possible I would revise a few things, like I said, I never meant to hurt Jennifer.”

Krause said he was only trying to cast a spotlight on the negative effects of obesity. He says he was overweight as a child and understands the struggle. He also volunteered to work with Livingston if she’d like to drop a few pounds.

There’s no word on whether Jennifer plans to accept the offer.
