Man who killed girlfriend with car sentenced again on DWI charges
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Salina man with a long history of drinking and then getting behind the wheel will once again return to prison.
Joseph Bertrand was sentenced to two to six years in prison on Thursday.
Facing a maximum of two and one third to seven years, he was given a reduced sentence after pleading guilty.
Judge Joseph Fahey warned that if he is ever convicted again, Bertrand will face a life sentence.
In 2003, he was sentenced to prison for his girlfriend’s death in which Bertrand was convicted on charges including criminally negligent homicide and manslaughter.
