Oswego (WSYR-TV) – An Oswego man whose license has been suspended six times is accused of driving a stolen car registered to a dead person, while carrying someone else’s driver’s license.

Vernelle E. Wilson, 69, of W First St. was arrested Monday morning on Route 104, the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office says the car he was driving was stolen from an Oswego Police Department impound lot.

The car was registered to Willie Williams of Syracuse, who passed away in 2011. The license Wilson was carrying was in the name of Willie Williams.

Wilson's driver’s license has been suspended six times for 21 offences, dating back to 1994 in New York City.

Wilson has been charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Criminal Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of a Forged Instrument, and Criminal Impersonation.

He was arraigned in the Town of Scriba Court by Judge Adkins and sent to the Oswego County Justice Center in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond.
