Sylvan Beach (WSYR-TV) - Keep your eyes peeled on central New York waterways Friday -- and you might catch a glimpse of some oversized cargo making its way to a nuclear power plant on the Lake Ontario shoreline.
It weighs in at about 850 tons. On board are ten pieces of concrete vaults worth about $2 million.
The barge was docked on the Erie Canal in Sylvan Beach Thursday night; it was scheduled to continue its journey through Oneida Lake to Oswego Friday.
The concrete vaults began their journey in Virginia; they are headed to the R.E. Ginna nuclear plant about 20 miles northeast of Rochester. It's scheduled to arrive on Monday.
