Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Along with a list of new appointees, Syracuse Mayor-elect Stephanie Miner announced Wednesday the creation of new offices for her upcoming term in office.
Tim Carroll will serve as director of the newly created Office of Mayoral Initiatives. That new office will oversee special projects in the city. It will include the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability, the Better Neighborhoods Bureau, and the Bureau of Communications. “This office will help generate and guide the creative energy and ambitious spirit I pledged to bring to City Hall throughout the campaign,” Miner said.
The Mayor-elect also said that the Departments of Community Development and Economic Development will be consolidated.
Three of Miner’s appointees bear the Driscoll surname, though none are related to one another. Corey Driscoll will serve as Director of Constituent Services, Paul Driscoll will oversee the newly created Department of Neighborhood and Business Development and Pat Driscoll will be the commissioner of the Department of Parks, Recreation and Youth Services.
A spokesperson for the Mayor-elect says a police chief and fire chief will be named at later date.
