Merriman Ave. shooting victims expected to be okay

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police are investigating a double shooting that happened on the city’s Near West Side Thursday afternoon.

Police say two men, 33-year-old Hector Sepulveda and 19-year-old Rafael Frias, were shot just before 3 p.m. in the 300 block of Merriman Avenue.

Sepulveda was shot in both of his legs, while Frias was shot in his buttocks. Both Frias and Sepulveda are expected to be okay.

Ballistic evidence gathered at the scene indicates two guns were used during the incident, according to Syracuse Police Sergeant Tom Connellan.
