ONEIDA, NY (WSYR-TV) - The South Shore Association of Oneida Lake’s biggest fundraiser of the year, an ice-fishing derby, was cancelled on Saturday.
It was set to take place on Oneida Lake, but was cancelled after two fishermen recently fell through the ice.
Not having the event will put some pressure on the Association’s budget.
”This is our biggest function and without the ice fishing derby to attract people in the club…it will probably cut our revenue in half due to this type of winter,” said Derby Co-Chairman Mark Young.
