Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- A piece of local pop culture made its way to a popular game show on Tuesday.

A question about Syracuse’s Tipperary Hill appeared on ABC’s “Who Wants to be a Millionaire."

The question read: In a rare exception, a traffic light in Syracuse’s Tipperary Hill neighborhood hangs upside down so the green light is on top, in honor of what immigrant population.

The answers: Greek, Mexican, Irish or Italian.

The contestant wasn’t sure and ended up polling the audience for help. With 82 percent of the audience going with Irish, he ended up getting the answer correct.

The question was worth $1,000.
