Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Democrat Stephanie Miner and Republican Steve Kimatian will square off in the race for Syracuse mayor after winning their primaries Tuesday night.
Kimatian beat out Otis Jennings, who was endorsed by city Republicans; Jennings says he will run on the Conservative line in the election.
Miner, the Democratic nominee, beat out Joe Nicoletti, Alfonso Davis and Carmen Harlow.

Helen Kiggins of the Onondaga County Board of Elections says 361 Republican absentee ballots were mailed; 172 of them have been returned. Of the outstanding ballots, all must be postmarked no later than September 14th, and they must be received within 7 days.
Kiggins also says 555 absentee ballots were mailed to Democrats; 321 of them have been returned.
