FORT DRUM, N.Y. (AP) - More soldiers from the Army's 10th Mountain Division have returned home to Fort Drum in northern New York after a yearlong deployment to Afghanistan.

A homecoming ceremony was held early Monday morning for members of the division's 3rd Brigade Combat Team, known as the Spartans. The 3rd Brigade began returning to Fort Drum in recent weeks, and another contingent arrived at the post over on the weekend. More soldiers are scheduled to arrive home Wednesday evening.

So far, just over 1,000 of the brigade's soldiers have returned, with the remaining units expected to arrive at Fort Drum by the end of the month.

While in Afghanistan, the brigade conducted combat operations with the Afghan National Security Force in the province of Kandahar.
