Rochester (WSYR-TV) -- More than 2,000 homes have been evacuated along the shoreline of Lake Ontario in Monroe County.
13WHAM is reporting that police went door-to-door notifying residents of the evacuation Monday night.
Additionally, 90 homes in the city were also evacuated due to tropical storm Sandy.
The wave heights along Lake Ontario’s shoreline in the Rochester area are expected to be 20 feet or higher overnight.
