Hastings (WSYR-TV) -- Plans to spray for mosquitoes in the Oswego County town of Hastings have been put on hold due to the weather.
The towns of Hastings and West Monroe were to begin aerial spraying Tuesday night.
The company doing the spraying says those plans have come to a halt because of rain. They’re now looking to spray on Thursday night.
Spraying will target public areas and help prevent the spread of West Nile virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis, or EEE.
So far this year, one child in Oswego County was infected with West Nile virus, but did recover.
An adult in Onondaga County died from West Nile virus.
