Motorcyclist dead after Vernon crash

Vernon (WSYR-TV) – State Police are investigating a crash that took the life of an Oneida man on Monday.

They say Van Williams, 30, of 6789 Creek Rd., was found by a passerby near his motorcycle on Barr Road, town of Vernon.

According to their investigation, Williams was riding at an unsafe speed when his 2006 Suzuki went off the road and struck two trees. He was thrown about 15 feet from the motorcycle.

Police are still investigating the incident.
