Motorcyclist injured in hit and run in Oneida County, deputies searching for suspected car
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is looking for the driver involved in a hit and run crash that injured a motorcyclist Tuesday morning.
Deputies say the victim was riding a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle southbound on Route 46 in the Town of Western at about 9:45 a.m. when a vehicle traveling northbound entered the biker's lane and side swiped him.
The Sheriff’s Office says the man was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in a ditch on the side of the road.
He was treated for road rash, cuts, and bruises before being transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth's Hospital.
Witnesses at the scene described the vehicle as an older gold colored car, possibly a Ford Taurus.
The vehicle was last seen turning on Route 274, according to deputies.
The Sheriff’s Office says the vehicle involved should have driver side damage from the impact with the motorcycle.
Anyone with information as to the involved vehicle or driver is asked to (315) 245-0800.
All calls will be kept confidential.
