Multiexport Foods voluntarily recalls smoked salmon due to possible listeria contamination

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Multiexport Foods has expanded its voluntary recall of smoked salmon, 12 oz Twin Pack and the 1.25 lb Pack under the “Paramount Reserve," because it may be contaminated with listeria.

The 12 oz Twin pack and 1.25 pound pack were distributed between November 12 and December 21 at retail outlets – including Walmart and Sam’s Club -- across the country, including New York State.

There have been no confirmed illnesses related to the recall, however a lab test did detect listeria.
Consumers who purchased the 12oz Twin Pack or the 1.25 lb pack.

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. If infected, healthy individuals may suffer from a high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. 

Paramount Reserve brand should return it to their retailer for a full refund.
