Syracuse (WSYR-TV/ABC) -- Days after a crash that killed a family in Brooklyn, the suspected hit and run driver has turned himself into police.
Police say Acevedo slammed into the car carrying Nachman and Raizy Glauber at a Williamsburg intersection early Sunday morning. The couple was on their way to the hospital.
Nachman Glauber died instantly and Raizy Glauber and their unborn child were rushed to an emergency room. The mother died after delivering the baby boy via C-section, according to ABC News.
The premature 7-month-old weighed only 4 pounds when delivered. He initially appeared viable, but died Monday morning.
Acevedo, 44, was on the run from authorities for four days.
This is not Acevedo's first run in with the law. He was convicted of manslaughter in 1987 and arrested for drunk driving as recently as last month.
There is no word yet on what charges Acevedo faces in connection with the crash.
