Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- New York has launched a new website, putting public information at your fingertips.

Governor Cuomo says the website will give unprecedented access to federal, state and local data.

When you log on to the new site – www.Open.NY.gov – you can put in your city or county in the search box and pull up all sorts of local information.

For example, you can find registered child care programs in your area and find out if any of them have violations.

You can also find similar searches for restaurants to see if their complying with health inspections.

Governor Cuomo says all executive agencies have been ordered to post data to the website and the state can provide help with that.

The goal is to have a one stop website that makes it easy for folks at home to get the information they need.

It’ll take some time for all the local governments to get information on the site.
