National Grid warns of scam phone calls

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - National Grid is warning customers that scammers are making calls in an attempt to get your personal information.

In the last few weeks, some customers have complained about calls from a person claiming to work for National Grid.

In some cases, folks are being told to get money orders, pre-paid cards or other forms of payment to avoid having their services shut-off.

National Grid says it's not them and if you have doubts about the person on the other end, you should hang up the phone and call National Grid directly at 1-800-642-4272.
