Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The results are in on a State Police crackdown on the Thruway – almost 200 drivers were pulled over for failing to move over for vehicles on the side of the road.

State Police increased enforcement of the “Move Over” law, which expanded last month to protect tow trucks and maintenance crews.

In total, 197 drivers were ticketed under the new law, which requires drivers to change lanes or slow down for service vehicles on the side of the road. Drivers who violate the Move Over law can face up to $360 in fines and have three points added to their driving records.
