Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -An Onondaga County Grand Jury Thursday indicted a Nedrow woman who claimed she had “tons of alcohol” before a crash that killed her passenger over the July 4th weekend.
Stephanie Campbell was indicted on charges of vehicular manslaughter and DWI. The charges stem for a crash that happened the morning of July 5th at the Route 81 and 481 split.
Campbell admitted to officers at the scene that she was driving too fast and lost control of her car and slammed into a bridge abutment. Campbell’s blood alcohol content was nearly 3 times the legal limit.
The passenger, 28-year-old Lindsay Thomas, also of Nedrow, was pronounced dead at the scene.
