New Hartford (WSYR-TV) – A New Hartford man already in jail on sex charges is facing an additional charge after police say they found photos of sexual performances by a child on his computer.
William Potoczny, 59, of State Route 12, was already in police custody in New Jersey on multiple sex charges involving a minor. Those charges include:
- Aggravated sexual assault
- Attempt to endanger the welfare of a minor by attempting to manufacture child pornography by attempting to debauch the morals of a child
- Attempting to transmit obscenity to a child and endangering the welfare of a child by transmitting child pornography
New Hartford Police seized Potoczny’s computer and digital cameras earlier this month and found multiple images of child pornography on the hard drive.
Potoczny was released after posting $10,000 bail bond. He’s due back in court next week.
Analysis of his computer is ongoing, police said. He’s been charged with one count of possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony. Additional charges may be filed.
