New State Fair director announced

Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – New York State announced a new State Fair Director on Tuesday afternoon.

Former state official Thomas Ryan will take over as the director of the Fair with former Syracuse mayor and one-time State Fair Director Tom Young serving as special advisor.

Ryan is replacing former director Dan O’Hara.

A Little Falls resident who says he plans to relocate to Syracuse, Ryan has served as an administrator in a number of New York State offices.

A press release from New York State did not indicate the circumstances under which O’Hara had left the Fair. O’Hara had been the Fair’s director since 2007.
