New owners buy Greek Peak ski resort following bankruptcy
Virgil (WSYR-TV) – Two men from the Elmira area will be the new owners of the Greek Peak ski resort following a bankruptcy auction.
The resort announced in a statement that Marc Stemerman and John Meier acquired Greek Peak and Hope Lake Lodge.
“We are extremely excited to own this regional and community asset. Our plan is to focus anew on the skier and boarder experience… and much needed improvements to the mountain in the years ahead,” Meier and Stemerman said in a statement.
The closing of the sale is scheduled for April 19.
Greek Peak, located in Virgil, opened in 1958 and employs nearly 1,000 people.
