No injuries after car hits train in Verona

VERONA, NY (WSYR-TV) - The Oneida County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash between a car and a train in the town of Verona on Sunday.

It happened just before 3:15 p.m.

According to the Sheriff's Office, a woman was driving north on Blackmans Corners Road when she did not stop for a westbound Amtrak passenger train.

The woman hit the train's second engine.

The driver and the 182 passengers and 4 employees on the train were not hurt.

CSX is making safety checks.  The Sheriff's Office asks if anyone has any information on what happened to give them a call at 315-765-2765.
