North Syracuse man sentenced for defrauding the US Postal Service, Department of Labor
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A North Syracuse man who admitted that he defrauded the US Postal Service and the US Department of Labor - taking more than $18,000 - has been sentenced.
54-year-old Thomas Dombrowski -a former letter carrier - will serve five years’ probation and perform 100 hours of community service.
Federal prosecutors say Dombrowski lied in order to receive compensation benefits, claiming he didn’t work at all in 2010 and 2011 because of a shoulder injury.
At the time, however, he was working for his own contracting business, installing and repairing roofs and carrying cement cinder blocks.
