OCC releases more event contracts
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - After pressure from county lawmakers event contracts for Onondaga Community College’s new SRC Arena were made public Monday, with financial data blocked out.
OCC president Debbie Sydow defended that decision, saying some vendors have threatened lawsuits against them.
“We have always abided by freedom of information laws but in some cases there are other laws that apply. There are other ways in which we must honor our partnerships and contracts,” she said.
County lawmakers argue the contracts should be public because the college receives county and state funding.
Some have expressed concern over the SRC Arena competing with the Oncenter and Civic Center for events.
