Officials say new program will mean shorter waits at Hancock airport
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Officials say a new program being offered at Hancock International Airport will make for shorter waits for travelers.
Senator Chuck Schumer and Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner announced the TSA Pre-Check program had touched down at the airport on Thursday.
The pre-check program allows travelers to undergo background checks and prescreening through the Transportation Security Administration.
The program will give flyers the opportunity to go through the check and then use designated lanes for faster screening at airports across the US.
It’s the first time a pre-check screening lane has been available at a Central New York or North Country airport.
The program is now available at the airport.
